BBC has just reported that Guy Laliberte has been launched into space. The founder of Cirque du Soleil did not use a trampoline, trapeze or swing to get that kind of height. Instead, he was aboard a Kazakhstan rocket.
09 October will feature a "political social performace from orbit." This will be streamed live on the web. Honestly, I will be watching. I thoroughly enjoy Cirque du Soleil. Simultaneously I think that private citizens visiting outer space are just oddballs. Maybe Mr. Laliberte is very creative and empowering. He has been able to create a worldwide product from the streets of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Let's hope his latest performance does not turn him into a Michael Jackson-style curiosity but a groundbreaking, ne: space-breaking poineer. Using one's wealth to bring attention to their interests is noble. This arena is just kind of odd. Godspeed Guy!
The latest tsunami in the South Pacific is horrible. Dozens of people living in the low-lying areas of Samoa, American Samoa and Tonga have been affected. Without warning waves of water reached inland the distance of 1 Kilometer. With most of the population living near the coast it is just horrible that the population has been so horribly affected.
Obviously, no one can stop this from happening. It makes me cry.
Bye y'all!
